At Dolce Vita Cotons, we are dedicated to raising and showing happy and healthy Coton de Tulear dogs. Our decades' long love for these dogs motivates us to prove our dogs in the show ring, health test our breeding dogs, and socialize our puppies to ensure they are the best canine companions they can be.

Known as the "Royal Dog of Madagascar," the Coton de Tulear was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 2014 and is a member of the Nonsporting Group. Cotons are also recognized by the United Kennel Club (UKC). The breed originates from the island nation of Madagascar and has been featured on its postage stamp. They were first imported to Europe, where they are shown in the Federation Cynologique Internationale. The AKC, UKC, and FCI publish breed standards describing the basic characteristics of the breed, which serves as a blueprint for breeders and fanciers.
Cotons are a small, fluffy white companion dog with a true "joie de vivre." They are affectionate and attached to their owners. They are sturdy and love to go on walks, play in the yard, and participate in dog sports like obedience, rally and even barn hunt! They have a clownish nature and can make their opinions known with unique vocalizations. They are adaptable and can live in apartments and small homes, but they need human companionship and suffer if left alone for extended periods of time.
We acquired our first CDT in 2005, many years before they received full recognition by AKC. Our love for these happy little dogs has only grown. We began exhibiting and showing our Cotons in 2022 and have been blessed to receive considerable recognition of our dogs in the show ring since. We have shown at Westminster and the AKC National Championship in Orlando, FL as well as many local and regional dog shows. Our dogs have ranked in the top 5 dogs of the breed as well as top rankings in the National Owner Handled Finals as well as the UKC Premier Nationals in Kalamazoo, MI. We are members of the North American Coton Association, the USA Coton de Tulear Club, and the Greater Collin Kennel Club. Our dogs are health tested and listed on the OFA website.
We are located in North Texas, but we can arrange transport for your puppy throughout the continental United States.

At Dolce Vita Cotons, our love for this wonderful breed is incorporated into everything we do. We prove our dogs in the show ring with AKC and UKC Championship titles and beyond. We health test our dogs with OFA-registered hips, elbows, cardiac and patellas,.Their eyes are examined by Veterinary Ophthalmologists and we genetically test them for all diseases currently known to affect the breed. They receive top notch veterinary and reproductive care and are current on all vaccinations. Our dogs are our family and we spare no expense.
Our puppies are born in our home and will live in our home until they are ready to go to their new families. They are weighed multiple times a day to ensure they are thriving and growing and meeting milestones. We perform ENS on our puppies and progress to leash training, crate training and getting the puppies used to all kinds of grooming, We train them to potty outside as well as on pee pads for travel. We socialize them to other people, animals, car rides and new environments. Our goal is to minimize fear and separation anxiety and to raise happy, healthy and confident puppies. Puppies are de-wormed several times at age-appropriate intervals. Puppies receive their first vaccination from our Veterinarian as well as having their dew claws removed.
we send our puppies home with 30 days of complimentary pet insurance. They are AKC registered with Limited Registration on a no-breeding contract for companion homes. Since we are not a large breeder, we may only have one litter a year. Litter sizes for Cotons are typically small. If you would like to be considered for a Dolce Vita puppy, you can email me and I will send you a Puppy Questionnaire to complete and return.
We are excited to announce that we are expecting puppies in early May!
